Based on my experience trading with SBI FXTRADE, I've found that the platform positions itself as offering "narrow spreads." However, in practice, the advertised spreads for pairs like EUR/USD can sometimes be tighter during major market hours, but may not consistently match the tightest spreads seen at other major brokers. When I tested their environment, the EUR/USD spread was somewhat competitive but, as with many brokers, it varied depending on market volatility, liquidity, and time of day. Unfortunately, SBI FXTRADE does not publicly state a fixed average or minimum spread for EUR/USD, and my own trading confirmed that spreads can fluctuate. Since SBI FXTRADE is regulated by the Financial Services Agency of Japan, they are subject to standards that should, in theory, prevent extreme deviations or price manipulation, which adds reassurance. Yet, from a risk management perspective, I always recommend that traders closely monitor live spread quotes and consider potential costs from even small spread changes, especially for active trading strategies. Transparency around real-time spreads and how they compare under different conditions is critical for any trading plan, and it’s worth testing spreads using their demo account before committing significant funds. My conservative approach is to always verify spread behavior during various market sessions and factor these real costs into expectations.
