In my experience trading with NOMURA, I found that the overall reliability of their trading platforms has been quite robust, especially considering they have developed and maintained their own suite of apps tailored for various asset management needs. Their mobile apps, particularly for FX and portfolio management, generally perform smoothly and are well-suited for traders who prioritize managing assets on the go. I did not encounter any significant issues with execution speed or stability—the infrastructure appears mature, reflecting NOMURA’s longstanding presence and their regulatory obligations in Japan. However, I did notice some aspects of their customer service that could be limiting, especially for those of us who are not fluent in Japanese or are used to more globally-oriented brokers. Most of the support and comprehensive resources, including their official website, are targeted primarily at local residents, and language support outside Japanese is minimal. This, for me, made getting detailed guidance more cumbersome. Additionally, the lack of a demo account means new clients can’t easily test the platform or customer support processes before committing real funds—this may heighten the risk of misunderstanding product features or support availability. On the platform side, while the apps are reliable, the spreads—particularly for USD/JPY and other majors—are on the higher end compared to some international brokers. For a cost-conscious trader, this is worth factoring in alongside the overall dependability of the trading environment. In summary, while the technological reliability is strong, I remain cautious about the language barriers and the absence of easy entry points like demo accounts, which could impact both accessibility and service experience.
