Based on my experience as a forex trader and after closely examining the available details about NOMURA, I found that their fee structure differs from many brokers offering ECN or raw spread accounts. NOMURA does not charge a traditional per-lot commission on their FX trading. Instead, the firm’s compensation primarily comes from the spread—which for major pairs like USD/JPY is listed at 2.8 pips, noticeably higher than what I usually see at true ECN brokers offering raw spreads. There is no explicit notation of a separate commission per lot, which means traders pay costs via the spread itself. In practice, this approach might offer convenience due to fee transparency, yet for me as a more active trader who often prefers tight spreads with a separate commission, this could result in higher trading costs overall. Also, with no option for lower, “raw” spreads and commission-based trading, NOMURA may not be as competitive for those seeking minimal transaction costs. This fee model tends to benefit less frequent traders or those new to FX rather than seasoned scalpers. I always recommend careful consideration of the full cost structure when selecting a broker, as spread-only models like NOMURA’s can mask trading expenses, especially during periods of higher volatility. For anyone concerned about cost efficiency, it’s important to compare average total transaction costs, not just the absence or presence of commissions.
