Italian Regulator Moves to Block Seven Unauthorised Investment Websites
Abstract:Italy steps up action against unlicensed investment platforms, warning investors about the risks posed by blocked websites.

Italy‘s financial markets watchdog has taken new enforcement action against unauthorised online investment activity, ordering internet service providers to block access to seven websites found to be operating outside the country’s regulatory framework.
According to the announcement, six of the platforms were offering investment services without the required authorisation, while one website was promoting financial products to the public without publishing a legally mandated prospectus. Such practices violate Italian financial regulations and expose investors to heightened risks.
The websites affected by the latest blocking order include Longsharks Capital, TradeOptimal, ALLX, TF Global Market, MEXCFD.com, Fil Investment Management, and Savitpay. In several cases, the platforms operated both public-facing pages and separate client portals, presenting themselves as established investment services despite lacking regulatory approval.
With this latest decision, the total number of websites blocked by the Italian regulator since mid-2019 has reached 1,562. The authority was granted the power to order website blocks as part of broader efforts to combat abusive financial intermediaries and unlawful investment offers targeting the public.
The regulator confirmed that the action was taken under the legal framework introduced by Italys Growth Decree, alongside additional provisions that allow authorities to shut down websites used to promote unauthorised financial activities. Internet connectivity providers operating in Italy have been instructed to implement the restrictions, although technical factors may mean that access is not cut off immediately in all cases.
Italian authorities continue to caution investors that unlicensed platforms often rely on professional-looking websites and aggressive online marketing to build trust, while operating entirely outside investor protection rules. Once funds are transferred, users may face significant difficulties recovering their money or seeking redress.
