From my own research and direct experience, I have found that Travelex is transparent about most of its fee structure, particularly concerning deposits and withdrawals. Their clearly listed fees include no charges for deposits or top-ups made online or through their app when loading foreign currency. However, when loads or top-ups are made in-store with Australian dollars, a fee of 1.1% or $15 (whichever is greater) applies. For withdrawals, the closure or withdrawal fee is set at AUD 10, and there’s a monthly inactivity fee of AU$4.00 if the card isn’t used for 12 months, which I consider important for any trader or user to factor in. During my use of the Travelex platform, I was not faced with any surprise or hidden charges beyond what was expressly laid out in their published schedule. However, I must underline that Travelex stipulates ATM operators might levy separate fees, which is standard and outside their direct control. It is also crucial to read their terms closely, especially regarding currency conversions and third-party banking charges, as these can sometimes be overlooked. Based on my careful review, I have not encountered any undisclosed or unexpected fees from Travelex for deposits or withdrawals—everything has matched what is stated on their website and user documentation. Nonetheless, staying vigilant and reading the latest terms before any transaction remains best practice in this industry.
