As an experienced trader who has looked closely at Fidelity’s offering, I can state that currently, it is not possible to deposit cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin or USDT directly into a Fidelity account. Fidelity’s focus is on traditional investment vehicles—namely, mutual funds, retirement products, and thematic portfolios—rather than supporting the direct transfer or custody of digital assets. The available payment options listed include telegraphic transfers, HSBC bill payments, bank drafts, direct debits, and cheques, with no mention of crypto support. While cryptocurrency is an increasingly popular medium in some investment circles, Fidelity appears to have chosen a more conservative and regulated path, likely to comply with robust financial standards required by the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) of Hong Kong and other regulators. This approach aligns with their long-established profile emphasizing investor protection and regulatory compliance. For me, while that means I can trust my funds are subject to established oversight, it also means I need to look elsewhere if I wish to move capital using digital assets. If transferring funds into Fidelity, be prepared to use conventional currency and banking channels, and always verify with customer support for the latest updates, as deposit methods may change over time.
