Wiki Q&A
How do the different account types provided by ARGUS differ from one another?
Based on my research and experience evaluating brokers like ARGUS, I found that their services cater to different investor needs primarily through their two core trading platforms rather than a traditional tiered account structure. ARGUS offers access to their proprietary ARGUS Trader platform, which is designed specifically for trading on the Cyprus and Athens Stock Exchanges, with full electronic order execution. In my view, this platform is best suited to those seeking exposure to regional equities and who may value local market familiarity. On the other hand, the ARGUS Global Trader platform, powered by Saxo, opens up access to global markets, including forex, stocks, and commodities. This is available online and via desktop, with the added benefit of a trial account option—something I appreciate for initially assessing a broker’s execution quality and platform usability before committing funds. However, it's important to note that, according to the available information, ARGUS does not openly advertise distinct retail account tiers that specify differences in spreads, leverage, or commissions, as is common with many global forex brokers. Instead, the differentiation largely comes from the scope of instruments, the platform used, and whether you trade primarily in Cyprus/Athens or globally. Given user feedback and allegations concerning withdrawal difficulties, I urge caution and careful due diligence before selecting which platform to use for your trading strategy. As always, I recommend clarifying all account conditions directly with their support to avoid misunderstandings.
Does ARGUS charge a commission per lot on their ECN or raw spread accounts?
From my experience and based on what I've learned specifically about ARGUS, the answer to whether ARGUS charges a commission per lot on their ECN or raw spread accounts is not directly addressed or clearly outlined. ARGUS is regulated by CYSEC and has been operating for over 20 years, providing a range of services, including asset management and brokerage via their own platforms and a global trader platform powered by Saxo. However, the available information does not mention the existence of ECN or raw spread account types, nor does it provide concrete details about per-lot commission structures typically associated with such accounts. This omission is significant for me as a trader because transparent fee structures are key to assessing a broker’s trustworthiness and cost efficiency. In my trading journey, I've learned that legitimate brokers are usually very clear about spreads and commissions, especially for ECN accounts where per-lot fees are a central feature. The lack of explicit data here means I cannot confirm if ARGUS offers true ECN or raw spread accounts, or what their commission policy might be. Because of this uncertainty, and given the reported issues with withdrawals and customer satisfaction, I would personally proceed very cautiously and seek full fee and account structure disclosures directly from ARGUS before considering them for trading.
Does ARGUS apply any charges when you deposit or withdraw funds?
From my own approach to due diligence, I carefully examined all available information about ARGUS, especially in areas I believe are most relevant for financial safety—such as deposit and withdrawal procedures. Unfortunately, I did not find any explicit details from ARGUS about standard deposit or withdrawal charges. This lack of direct disclosure immediately urges me to be cautious, as transparent brokers usually outline all associated fees up front. What stands out to me, though, are several troubling user reports regarding the withdrawal experience at ARGUS. Persistent and recurring client complaints point to denied or delayed withdrawals and requests for additional payments—such as a required 15% “personal income tax” or “margin”—before access to funds is granted. In my experience, legitimate brokers regulated by authorities like CYSEC do not demand such payments as prerequisites for releasing withdrawals. Instead, any tax or fee obligations related to profits are normally settled through formal national processes, not broker-held accounts. Given these patterns and from a risk management perspective, I personally would not proceed with any sizable deposits or expect frictionless withdrawals at ARGUS until I receive clear, official, and verifiable information about their fee structure and withdrawal practices. I cannot stress enough the importance of caution here: in my own trading, I always insist on full clarity before moving any funds.
Can I trust ARGUS as a reliable and secure broker for trading?
As a seasoned trader accustomed to scrutinizing broker reliability, I always begin with regulation and track record. On paper, ARGUS has a long-standing presence, being regulated by Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) for over 20 years. Cyprus regulation and an STP model provide a baseline sense of legitimacy, and access to multiple asset classes via established platforms is an attractive point. However, in my own risk assessments, regulation alone is not a guarantee of secure, smooth trading. When I delve deeper into user experiences, a pattern that raises some red flags appears. Multiple recent reports recount serious withdrawal difficulties, incidents of accounts being blocked, requirements to pay additional funds (often under the guise of “margins” or “taxes”), and a lack of transparent or timely customer support. As an independent trader, I am extremely cautious of any broker with unresolved exposure claims concerning withdrawal restrictions or unexpected fees—these are fundamental risks to client safety. Regardless of regulation, any sustained number of such complaints signals a potential issue in practical fund security or business conduct. My professional opinion—given both the CySEC oversight and these recurrent negative exposures—is that I am not comfortable recommending ARGUS as a low-risk, reliable broker. For me, confidence in any financial intermediary must be anchored not just by regulation, but also by a transparent and trustworthy operational record, especially regarding clients’ access to their own capital. Until credible and consistent improvements are seen in these areas, I would advise exercising heightened caution.

Fraud platform, romance scam, change customer information and card number for withdrawal. I check the card number for three times to make sure that it is correct, but it changed during withdrawal. Then, they ask you to pay the margin and freeze the fund to not let you withdraw. Trap!
